DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY

    The Department of Chemistry was established in 1986 with B.sc Chemistry as the first course. The department offers a postgraduate program leading to the degree of Master of Science under the self finance stream in the year1995. The course offered being a general course in Chemistry; students can acquire a good knowledge of organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, environmental and medicinal chemistry. The department is working to enrich and strengthen the young talents by producing competent students to excel in research and consultancy. We also strive to create a biologically ethical, safe environment for the society. In order to incorporate value beside classroom teaching the students are exposed to ample opportunities like, interaction with leading industries, project work, participation in debate, seminar, quiz, paper presentation etc. The Students of the department have excelled in both academics as well as extracurricular activities.

FACILITIES

    The department has well equipped laboratories and separate library with all needed books. The Department Lab was well equipped for students, with all the necessary facilities to keep in pace with the developing research field. The students can execute a project in collaboration with an industry or a national laboratory.
